Very big problem, NEED HELP

Ok.
So I downloaded a bootscreen, and the readme told me to adjust the boot.ini, so I did, but now when I start up my PC, I have to choose a system where the PC can run on, I have 2 choices, but when I choose the first it says it cant find some sort of .dll (I thought it was hall.dll), when I choose the second the same problem comes back again.
Plz could some1 help me fix this problem?

(p.s: I downloaded the bootscreen because I just wanted to give my XP a bit of a nice twist, I allready downloaded a theme (from the same site) and that worked for me, so I trusted the file, also alot of people downloaded the bootscreen allready and they said it was nice and that it worked so.)

 

I cant start windows xp up anymore, so how do i need to install this?

 

ok here are the steps that occure:
It boots, then I get a black screen where I can choose the ''running system'' for the PC, so I select; Windows XP.
Then I get another black screen which says Windows XP can't be booted because of the missing hal.dll.
So the prob is that I can't get into my system, also not in safe mode, and setting my PC back to the latest good working configuration, allready tried that.

 

actually there were 2 choices;
- Windows XP /fastdetect (or something)|
- Windows XP Bootlogo

I dont have anything backed-up, but actually I don't know if I want to lose anything, I dont think so, but the problem is that I dont have a Windows XP install cd-rom

 

I didnt think I did get that one with my PC, or should i've got one?

 

Yah ok!
But when he mails me one, what should I do with it? I can't burn cd's here.

 

I think I can get a Windows cd-rom from a friend, thats what i'm gonna try
