    Ok.
    So I downloaded a bootscreen, and the readme told me to adjust the boot.ini, so I did, but now when I start up my PC, I have to choose a system where the PC can run on, I have 2 choices, but when I choose the first it says it cant find some sort of .dll (I thought it was hall.dll), when I choose the second the same problem comes back again.
    Plz could some1 help me fix this problem? :)

    (p.s: I downloaded the bootscreen because I just wanted to give my XP a bit of a nice twist, I allready downloaded a theme (from the same site) and that worked for me, so I trusted the file, also alot of people downloaded the bootscreen allready and they said it was nice and that it worked so.)

    What happens when you try to boot? can you get into safe mode ....last good config (seriously doubt that one) ....do you have a boot choice?

    ok here are the steps that occure:
    It boots, then I get a black screen where I can choose the ''running system'' for the PC, so I select; Windows XP.
    Then I get another black screen which says Windows XP can't be booted because of the missing hal.dll.
    So the prob is that I can't get into my system, also not in safe mode, and setting my PC back to the latest good working configuration, allready tried that. :(

    Was there another choice other than winxp?
    You may have to do a repair install (not recovery).

    actually there were 2 choices;
    - Windows XP /fastdetect (or something)|
    - Windows XP Bootlogo

    Two choices: complete new install or a repair install ....do you have stuff backed up to a disc, cd? is there stuff you don't want to loose?

    I dont have anything backed-up, but actually I don't know if I want to lose anything, I dont think so, but the problem is that I dont have a Windows XP install cd-rom

    should have come with either a recovery disc or an install disc ....you may need to call the company that you bought it from and b*tch ...or the maker of the puter and b*tch ....will often mail you one. We can't do much without it.
