I thought my cpu temp was doing great until I ran FAH and found out AUX is my cpu die temp, it went up to 61C and then immediately back down to 48C when I stopped the program, this is wierd, my "cpu" temp is only 32C-36C and my mobo, hdd, and case stay extremely cool, in the low-mid 40s, low 30s so whta is wrong? is my heatsing not makin good contact with the cpu die? I am using an AVC hsf(came with my computer)

61C is 141.8F ...140F is my redline....id run toast and watch your temps..get it nice and heated up then check your temps "manualy" ( reach in and feel your heatsink ) 140F will be quite warm to touch...you prolly just have a buggy temp sensor on your hands ....

checl out the verest log. when it got to these temps the cpu heatsink felt only warm, not really hot. there seemed to be alot of heat coming out around my ram, I think most of it was actually from the back of the gpu. The ATI chip on my ASUS mobo was almost hot enough to burn me. and the gpu fan powered up after I stopped runnign toast, it did this twice, both times it only stayedc at full speed for about 30 secs.

What were your original temps as you said you thought they were OK?

F@H will like most other grid-type community data crunching apps send your temps rising as they are using near 100% CPU time or what free available CPU cycles are not used in your own running apps,

Everest could well be miss-reporting your temp sensors, I know a few temp apps pick a strange one on my mobo... would be nice as it reads -28c AUX, so test your temps via bios or another temp app to be sure.

Todays GFX cards pump out a fair amount of heat which can affect other hardware noticably the Ram as both are close.. plus the mobo temp sensors too if the warm air from the cards fan/s aim their expelled air in the sensors direction... only thing you can do is to maximize the airflow around your case by tidying up the cables and getting a good balance of air in and out.

    [off topic-ish]
as to the  smilie... as ACE said ( in his slightly drunken state ) the use of a smile on its own sort of makes many members think that you are angry that no-ones replied or you demand an answer now, thus reactions like you gained from ACE do happen, next time add a bit of substance ( text ) to your post as to why your angry ( I know PC issues are damm frustrating at time ) and it will get a response or better responses.

I at present dont answer as many threads as I used to, why.. well plain and simple my job has hit a majorly important and busy phase, so like others ( IIRC MGs mean member age is 20-30 we all have busy lives & other commitments ), I can only get to threads when I get time, I do try and make time to review all of them or at least get a 0 post thread started with some ideas or starting point... aka psudo bumped :) , but dont have enough time to answer or reply in all.. but we do have some great members who try and answer all threads time permitting.

    So, whats the problem?

    Looks fine to me.

The Aux temperature is probably a false reading.

What makes you think Aux is the CPU die, and then you have another CPU temp as well? I have one cpu reading, and one alone.

Use Speedfan. Everest is crap for temperatures.

    Really?
Can you provide more info to back that up.
I find that Everest has provided very acurate temps & fan speeds for my systems.

It's been awhile since I ran speedfan so to be democratic, I just downloaded & ran it, the cpu temps match that of Everest, speedfan list a temp of 126C for something else unknown, what ever it is, 126c, It's a False reading by Speedfan.
Another problem I see with Speed fan is it's Fan speed readings are incorrect, it's saying my cpu fan is running at 9,880 rpms, thats impossible, it's only rated for about 4500

I suppose either Utility can provide false or inacurate info, I just have to say I havent had much luck with SpeedFan & if I had to go on faith it would be with Everest.
Regardless, Nowbody should rely on one utility or program, use more than one & compair

Sure thing. These were taken within seconds of each other. I know which one I trust.

    See a problem?

I do. If I cannot trust it for one temperature, I'm not going to trust it for others either.

Did I mention it won't pick up any mb or CPU sensors for my 4400+ and A8N32-SLI?

Makes it bad in my book.

I don't know what to trust, I do liek everest though, and i use riva tuner to look at my gpu temp, I just right click on the desktop. I think AUX is the cou die because it goes up really fast when I run CPU intense programs.

That still doesn't explain why there are two CPU readings.

This is an Asus board from what you said right?

See if PC Probe will work on it.

I will try pc probe, I heard that AUX could be the die and cpu might be a reading from beneath the cpu, on the mobo.
