Go to My Computer, left panel click My Network Places, left panel click View Network Connections, under Lan or High Speed Connections right-click on the connection and click properties, check show icon in notification area when connected. Then let me know what speed it says when it shows up in the tray in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.

Go to Start, Control Panel, System, click the tab Hardware, Device Manager, go down the list till you get to Network Adapters and click the + sign, right-click on your network card and click uninstall

Note this will require you to restart your computer.

Let me know if that fixes the problem at all.

    Download the following program.
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Ad-Aware_SE_Personal_d506.html
At the end of the installation tell it to update and run a full system scan.
After scan is complete check everything it finds and click next.
Let me know if this helps your internet connection.

It said nothing found. I also forgot to mention that i just got my pc fixed a few days ago, i had to get a new mother board and i re formatted the pc. I've also put on windows service pack 2. Before i got the new mother board the internet was working fine. I dont think its my internet company becuase im on my laptop now connecting to my wireless router and it works fine.

Im surprised that NO ONE here has attempted one ovbious thing.....a different network cable!!!! Wow.

-Lower the speed/duplex mode of your card to 10/Half, just for troubleshooting, then go up a step each time (10/Full, 100/Half, etc.). I'm not sure about this model of mobo, but I know the p4p800-se has a GB NIC. Turn off the auto-sense feature garbage and go straight to 100/Full.
-Contact your ISP to ensure that the MTU value in the modem is set to what it should be. Typically this is 1500, but some cable ISPs will use 1492 or even 1400.
-Stop the service for the Windows firewall.
-Try different drivers for your on-board NIC.

I have tried a new cable actually lol. Aslo how do i chaneg the speed/duplex of the card?? And there is nothing wrong with my ISP because i have a laptop and the internet works fine on that and wats a 'GB NIC'?

You're welcome. Sorry for not giving more specific details in the post, I was kind of in a rush to finish it up and get back to work.

    And WOman thanks ;)

A GB NIC is a gigabit network card (10/100/1000). When you change the speed/duplex mode, unless you've put it on AutoSense, it will not be enabled.
