Posted this before...but No one really helped, and someone gave me confusing questions...so here it is again...really need help...

My internet has been incredibly slow recently..and ive tried everything i could think of. I checked with my ISP, they said my modem was fine, so they sent some ppl over to check the cable connecting from the phone line to my house and they replaced it, and said everything should be good now, And its still not... my dl bandwidth on this computer (destop) is like 100 kbps...and i have a cable modem...i cant listen to any music, ( like streamed music) cant go on youtube, and cant watch streamed movies anymore D: Ive ran it in safe mode, and still the same thing, so its NOT a virus problem, (so i believe) I have a router and i have a laptop connected to it, and its download speeds are perfectly fine. Yes ive tried reseting my modem, it didnt work. And im tired of having to call my ISP and get no where with them (roadrunner). My question is, could it be my network card or something? Or my ethernet cable? or even my router??( ive tried plugging my computer into a different router slot and it did nothing) Really need your help guys, Im handicapped on this comp =(

I would be considering to reset my router, but the problem is the last time i did that it took me weeks to figure out how to set it back out, having problems with gateways and Ips, im just not a networking guy...

Ive also considered doing a system restore, because im thinking maybe a program has caused this, I dont believe its a connection problem or anything because my bros laptop is perfectly fine...

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I gave you some ideas back in Sept on this here some of my questions would need a reply so we could narrow this down more.. post replys in this thread.

Running in Safe Mode doesnt mean you dont have malware on your PC, so maybe run the Malware Forums Read ME guide and see what that comes up with.

Also and this is just for testing, what Antivirus and what Firewall do you have installed?
Do you have multiple Antivirus apps and Firewalls? so please list all the security software you have on that PC.

A test to do is to turn off your firewall and does the internet become quicker?

Yes this is likely an issue with your PC and either driver, software or malware based as the cause, so please do answer any questions anyone asks you, if you dont understand any do say so and we should be able to tailor the reply more, with step by steps.

But do try what I posted in the reply I gave you back in Sept and reply to them in this thread as we hopefully can help but you need to help us to help you :)

Heh, Ok well im running Avast, and when i turn it off, it makes no difference. The netlimiter really didnt come up with anything, nothings taking up my download speed or upload speed, flushed my dnscache, still nothin...anything else? Ill post a hijack log, even though im not trained to analyze it, i do not see anything wrong with it
