Very Slow Pc

This is a carry over from the Hardware forum. I am doing a chkdsk on my main drive 'C', but I can do it only from Safe Mode Administrator: CMS.exe - chkdsk.
I tried to do it from going to My Computer and schedule a disk check on reboot, and the message I got was "NTFS clean"

 

Use Tweaking.com - Windows Repair to check the disk.

Run the program in 'Safe Mode with Networking'. The repairs will take some time. Restart the PC.

 

yes Use Tweaking.com. it is nice . also if i were you i will speed up your C drive . extend it if possible.

 

Did use tweaking did show a bit of improvement. The biggest improvement was when I ran chkdsk. After chkdsk I wanted to do sfc/scanned and my new problem is I can't get Windows to open. In 2010 I had made a recovery disk but the pc is not booting from that DVD, and I don't know if it's a bad DVD or something else.

 

Using my Windows 7 rescue disc, I had to go into my BIOS to tell my notebook to boot from the CD. I could see it was booting from the CD and it asked me to Choose My Language and so I clicked on Next.
Nothing has happened since.
What do I need to do now?

 

I think I may tried 5 or 6 times. Just no progress from that first message window.

 

Tried it just a few min. ago and a second page has opened up. Not sure what to pick here and the cursor is spinning.
This one is entitled SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS
There are 2 choices: 1. Use recovery tools that can help fix problems starting Windows. Select an operating system to repair.
If your operating system isn't listed click Load Drivers and then install drivers for your hard disks.

2. Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier.

Load Drivers. Next

 

Try option 1.

 

Never was able to make a choice because the cursor never settled down.
