Very slow system

My computer is running extremely slow. It takes over 30 minutes to startup. It takes over 5 minutes for my short cuts to show up. I check my start up memu and there are only the microsoft and zonealarm stuff are in it. I am using google as my homepage, when I change it to yahoo it made no difference. I have ran several programs such as Spy boot and advanced system care but they do not seem to help.The connecting icon on the upper left of screen just keep on spinning. I would appreciate any help in resolving these issues. Thanks.

has it suddenly become this slow? also how much space is there on your hdd?

 

Also how much RAM is installed?
When was the last GOOD defrag?

 

No antivirus? Or are you using ZA for that?

 

when you get up and running down load Auslogic defrag , if i,m right your systems slow as your HD is badly fragmented , in your case it may take some time , but onc its done it should be fine.
