Running 64 bit Win 7. I installed the latest Video drivers from nVidia. The video drivers work fine, but Physx did not install. When I run the .exe in the display driver folder for PhysX the install says that I have a newer version of Ageia physx v910.01.09 and to uninstall this before I can install the physx drivers that came with the video drivers v196.21 Well Nvdia doesn't have the version910.01.09. Also it is not in my programs and features to uninstall it. In fact ,Iran a search and it's not on my system. Ran malware checks and anti-virus checks to no avail. Any help would be appreciated

    Hi

What I would do is to download and install Driver Sweeper (BUT do not run it yet) download the lastest driver version for your graphic card BUT dont install yet.

Use Add/Remove and unsinstall your Nvidia Graphics Driver, then reboot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and then run Driver Sweeper to remove any Nvidia Graphics and Physx driver.

Then install the Nvidia driver you downloaded earlier and once installed if not prompted to reboot, reboot into normal mode.

Have you been installing any customised or beta nVidia drivers? also nVidia did release one that caused GFX cards to overhead (196.75) did you by any chance install that one then remove it as they pulled this one quickly, as the Physx component may have been ok a and not removed/

Halo, I did that before here and it didn't help. I even have Driver Cleaner and tried that and it didn't work. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled numerous times. I had the Nvidia driver that were bad on but I did take them off.Another question is where did the Agiea PhysX v910.01.29 come from. I am at a loss.:crap

    HI

That version Physx version did come with the reciently pulled GForce 196.75, could try the Windows Installer Cleanup util to see if that lists the Physx driver, if it does remove it. Then run CCleaner and ist cleaner and registry tools, run the registry one until nothing lists for removal.

nVidias advice is a driver rollback info HERE

TBH the Physx driver in the updated one should be ok and I would leave it be as it was only the GForce GPU driver that was causing the heating issue, when they release the next update you will likely still have the same Physx driver for a while until they are say 3-4 driver versions down the line.

Is the Physx driver plus the GForce 196.21's causing you any issue?

Video drivers are working fine. It doesn't matter which drivers I install it will not install PhysX. I ran SFC/ scnnow and no problems with system files.

    Hi

It wont install the Physx drivers from older or the now current driver (due to the bad pulled driver) as the physx component you have is newer, but TBH I dont think you will have any issues as the physx driver is fine in that version, just wait for the next update to the GForce drivers but as I mentioned they many not change the physx driver in the next one or two.

I will wait halo, but why isn't that Version of PhysX not in my add/remove.? Also why isn't that verison offered as a standalone on nVidia's site?

Fixed the problem. Installed the bad set of drivers(196.75) and then uninstalled PhysX. Then reinstalled PhysX

    Hi

Great on fixing this, as to why that version is not offered on Nvidia's site, guess they pulled both and reverted to the older version while sorting out the driver issue.
