I have a Biostar A785G3 Version 6 MOBO with an apparent bad onboard graphics. When i turn the pc on i can see absolutely nothing. Decided tht buying an aftermarket video card was cheapest way to solve the issue. I put a Nvidia GeForce 8400 gs with hopes that when i booted windows would install a bad driver or even a generic one just to be able to see but no luck. Nothing appears with the video card i purchased and i cant even use the windows sounds to navigate my way through it either. Any and all ideas to this would be greatly appreciated and any other information needed just let me kno!!!

Do you get anything on the screen at all? Like right after powering on, you should get the motherboard logo along with the "Press <F2> for Setup" or similar message. If you get absolutely nothing, then the motherboard has failed. 99% of the time, if you get no video from a motherboard, it is NOT just the on board video that has failed, it's the whole board.
    :(

But the hard drive spins, nic is flashing and keyboard lights are going (caps lock, num lock). Do you think it is still possible the entire board? No i dont but from the research off of biostars website say tht if it isnt changed in bios then ur foobared.. I was wondering if maybe trying an older video card to see if windows could grab it may help..

Wasn't trying to offend anyone with my previous post. I have a little knowledge of computers and just wanted to be absolutely sure that there wasn't a way to fix it without saying it was a dead mobo. I have a problem with not being a person to say "Your computer is broke, go buy a new one."

    ;) No worries!

I have seen many a board be dead but still have the NIC flashing, fans spinning, etc. This happens because there is still electricity going thru the board. My on board NIC on my home PC flashes even when my PC is turned off because there is still the standby voltage going to the board. This is why some keyboards and mouses (mice?) stay lit up when a PC is shut off. If you turn off the power supply or unplug from the wall, then (obviously) the standby voltage is gone and nothing flashes or lights up.

Anyway - if you have access to an old video card (via borrowing one from a friend or buying an 'el cheepo' at a thrift store or used PC shop), then, by all means, try it out. But don't be surprised if things don't change.

I was just thinking.... it could also be a bad power supply. I'm working on an old Emachine tower right now: when you hit the power button, it turns on, the fans spin, the CD drives will open and close, but there's no video, and no beep, and (obviously) no boot. I hooked up a new power supply, and BAM! It beeped, got video, and booted (it then crashed to a blue screen, but that's besides the point ;) it still has video and I'm installing a fresh Win7 on it). So, I may have been a bit hasty in "insisting" that your MB was dead....
    :-o
