VHS to DVD

Hi all

Can someone please tell me whats required to enable VHS video convertion to DVD format and what will give me the best results.

 

Just to let everyone know this is private VHS videos of my family and not pirate videos, so if anyone can help, I would be gratefull, thankyou.

 

First off, you'll need some type of video capture card. ATI All-In-Wonder is popular; a company called Hauppaugge (pronounced "hop hog") also makes several models and they're cheaper than ATI's. Then you'll need some software, and almost none of the software needed is freeware Read this guide for info on software names and general how-to info:

The other method which is the one I used is to buy a VHS/DVD player with recording capabilities. I run the VHS and record on the DVD side. I use the system at work alot. Then, if need be, and in my situation it's needed, I load the DVD into my computer to manipulate it. Good software from this site. Good luck!!
