I tried to play a streaming video clip but it cant be played (error), it's asking me to download (VIDEO ACTIVEX OBJECT).

I can't find this to download, but there is one entry (similar at USD$100) and various warnings about it being a nasty.

Any help finding this to download? Is it safe to install? :confused Bazza

Thanks Clark for your quick reply. I did a Google search already which is why I asked if it is a nasty. Seems to be more than one version which confuses me. Ended up at this link.

    http://www.fullreleases.com/NewMemb...173&z=Video Activex Object 1.15 WinXP&search=

Anyone know if this is a safe version (to join up) and download. (not on MG) :cry Confused even more. :(

Don't touch this either any kind of video add-on that ask you to download or to pay almost all the time 99% it's bad for you.....

The thing is to use VLCplayer if it does not play don't touch it.....deleted the video and try another source.....

Any site that tells you that you need to install Video ActiveX Object or similar is rogue. These are fake video codecs and are the Trojan Zolb family of Trojan downloaders.

Zlob is responsible for delivery of the infection family collectively referred to a Smiitfraud.

besides, all that stuff on that site is probably illegal, and there are other safer ways of obtaining them (still illegal tho)
