For the life of me I can't find info on, or, if you can skip ,block, or find a way to stop the ads. when watching video content on the web , I,m useing IE 9 for now .Maybe I'll try firefox or chrome in the future . Do they have a good uninstaller if I don't like ?

Man I don't mind a 10 or 15 second ad once in awile, but 30 sec gets real annoying . I guess most of is flash, .

THe web seems to be getting more and more junked up ! Leave it to the powers to be to ruin a good thing ! rt

I don't know as these ads are embedded like on CNN. They are annoying though eh, I agree!

I don't use IE so I can't comment on what might or might not work.
I do not see ads. I run either a paid program, AdMuncher on some computers or a free FF plugin called ABP (Ad Block Plus).

That's how I read the post too but, for what it's worth. I'm not seeing any adds in the CNN vids. Running Opera 11.60 Final with the Opera AdBlock extension.

Hmmm, not seeing them with Palemoon either. Unfortunately, I don't have an explanation in either case.

I use FlashBlock for FireFox and I love it. Works for everything, and even stuff you don't. It is for sound only though. Popups without sound will get through.

It works more like a firewall in that it requires you to approve absolutely everything with sound, even Youtube videos.

Well, this is interesting. I would have said there was no way to block video ads.

I use FF with AdBlock Plus and Fanboy's filters. And I don't see the CNN ads in FF. I didn't even know they were there. But in IE there are ads.

Give FF a try and download the AdBlock Plus extension. There is no downside to having FF installed. If you don't like it don't use it--no harm done. Or if you prefer, the FF uninstaller will work fine or you can use Revo to be sure all leftovers are removed.

Indeed an interesting thread sach2. I'm using Chrome and just added it's 'Adblock' but still the same for CNN.:( At least it stopped the youtube ads.:) Of course I'll whitelist MG's when I figure this out.;)

YouTube ads? I've been living in a fool's paradise! :-D

I didn't realize YT had ads. CNN, I can understand because it is original content and they host it. But youtube doesn't quite seem fair, their adding ads to the actual video which they didn't produce.

I think I'll send Adblock a small Christmas present.

Got ABP (Disable everywhere) on Fx and still get ads on YT. Only Indian adverts though, prolly IP generated..
Plus got the CNN advert from augie's link. Foreign and changing!
    Cheers..

The YT ads are actually quite unobtrusive. Just a small text rectangle at the bottom of the video page that one can easily click away. I honestly don't mind the ads on YT considering what they have to pay for bandwidth etc, just like here. Yes there are ads and I'm willing and happy to support what each of these sites has to offer in exchange for a bit of annoyance.;)

    I see no ads anywhere.
I get the Adobe box to allow Flash Player to store something. I allow it because I also have the Better Privacy addon which removes all the LSO (flash player persistent cookies stored elsewhere on the computer) when I close FF.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/betterprivacy/
I went searching for LSOs one day and found cookies from sites I had visited 2 years earlier on my linux netbook! Not something I want retained on my computer, especially since the ssd in there is only 4GB and space is at a premium.

    Youtube = Google https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/YouTube
If using Google Chrome that would explain it eh?
Do you have added Fanboy's Indian subscription list? Try if that gets rid of the ads? https://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions

Nope not there, augie. Get an Ad in one out of 7-8 vids.
Thanks, just subscribed to the Indian list. Lets see how it goes. :)
    Cheers..
