video as .exe

I have been given a program to open made by an application called BackupViewer. I also know the program is made by Samsung Techwin Technologies. The program is a video turned into an .exe, thereby rendering it unplayable in Windows Media, etc. Does anyone know how to open this, or convert it to something that does?

 

There's a program called EXE to AVI but I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for. When you double click the exe file does it launch WMP?

 

It seems to be from a security camera DVR software. He may also try using 7Zip or a similar file compressor to see if he can unzip it like a RAR or ZIP file.

 

When I double click the link, the video opens, but it is only playable. I cannot edit or change anything. I want to open it in Windows Media to brighten the image, and add more contrast. Is this possible, or can it only be done on the original machine?

 

As Just Playin suggested, use 7Zip to try to extract the video from the EXE file and you may be able to use WMP or some other video editing software to accomplish your task.
