Where can I go to find out which video card is better?

    Apollo 6800 128-RD Geforce 6800 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card

    or:

    XFX Geforce 6800xtreme 256

I'm trying to google, but can't really decide which is better other than the 6800 xtreme for the 256 mb but it has 8 pipleines vs. the apollo's 12 thoughts?

I got a Ge6800 recently, and to say the least, have been dissappointed. Not nearly what I thought it would be. Not very happy with it, check out some of the ATI versions on Newegg.com, some really slick deals.

Am I reading wrong, one has 128 megs, the other 256. Memory is important. XFX is a name I prefer as well. Finding head to head would be tough, but theres a ton of hardware review sites like http://www.tomshardware.com

How much of a diff would 256 MB vs. 128 MB make? Also from my reading the apollo card has 12 pixel pipelines unlockable to 16 whereas the xfx only has 8. Each card has its pros and cons.

Good reading then and good point. My understanding is that the pipelines, at the end of the day, are a bit more valuable. You could always bump up system ram as well if needed.

Is there a good free benchmark I can use out there?

I can try both cards in system and use the one that gives me best performance.

I'm running 2 gigs of ram in system right now.

Ive got the XFX one for AGP and it runs everything I got on high settings (see my sig for other specs) Ive overclocked the crap outta it tho (350mhz core to 500mhz, 1000mhz memory to 1300mhz) and that REALLY helped. It gets about 11700 in 3dMark03 which is comparable to some of the better cards out there. For an 8 pipeline card it really performs well. Im guessing it would beat the 6800 128mb. Just make sure you get the one with the 256-bit interface and not the 128-bit. They look the same and prices are similar so be careful. Ah, w/e ill find it for ya: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157
