    Greetings All!

Okay, I want to update my video card, but I can't go much higher with my system. I'm currently running a Radeon 9250LE w/128 MB. I only have PCI bus available, no AGP or PCI-E.

I was looking at the GeForce FX5500 256MB card. Would I notice much of an improvement with this card over what I'm running now? Let me know what you think.

    Thanks!

I don't think you'll notice much of a differance. You'll be going from "low end card" to low end card with more memory".

How much RAM do you have? Your $ may be better spent there.

not worth it. even if your system had AGP, your Celeron would be bottlenecking the performance of a higher end card. sorry  time for an upgrade if your unhappy with performance.

if cost is a big issue, you should be able to get a system that performs a LOT better than your current for under $600. (Athlon XP or older Pentium 4)

Frankly, I'd avoid the GeForce 5000 series entirely unless you've got a 5950. The ATI 9000 series was head and shoulders above anything nVidia had that generation.

But yeah, your system as a whole is outdated. A single component upgrade will not suffice to play any modern game.
