    Hi Everyone,

I currrently have a HP Pavilion dv4000 (DDR series) laptop, that's already a few years old, but capable of running all the software I need it to run. I was planning on buying a cheap discrete video card and installing it on the laptop so I can play some of the older games on the market. I was just wondering if anyone knew if the computer even supported discrete video cards, because it currently uses an integrated graphics card from Intel. I was looking at some specs, and under expandibility it had "1 x Type I/II PC Card Slot". I wasn't sure if that meant it was capable of handling a discrete video card? And if so, what types of video card are compatible with this laptop? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm gonna say probably not. From what I've read you could get a dv4000 with an x700 but I haven't really found anything about upgrading to it. You could get a new motherboard for you laptop with the x700 graphics on it and install that but other than that I don't really know what else you could do.

    Hope this helps!
