Video Card Driver Problems

Hey guys,


I think that the problem i am having is driver related.....I just reformatted my pc and now my screen resolution is not correct. I am running XP Pro SP2. Before the reformat i had my Samsung SyncMaster 941bw 19 in Wide screen at 1440X900 and it worked perfect. Now when i select that resolution there is a inch of screen missing to the right and when i move over there then an inch to the left goes away. I do not understand this. The new driver i installed was the latest off the NVIDIA web page. I currently have the resolution set at 1152X864 and it looks horrible. I also have the options of 1024X768 and 800X600.

**The card I have is a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS 512MB PCIe card. And my motherboard is the socket 939 ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. I am running a AMD San Diego Core 4000 processor.**

You should have gotten a CD with your Monitor. This CD would allow you to install the proper driver. If you can't locate this disk go to Samsung's website to get the appropriate driver.

For manual driver manipulation...
You can right click My Computer and click "Manage". Then, on the left pane click once on Device Manager. Expand Monitors then right click and choose properties for a manual installation if necessary.

Again best bet is to pop in that CD and run the installation.
