Well this video card is runnin to hot to even play Call of Duty 5 with minimal graphics, the weather just got hot today its about 70 or so degrees int he room(F). I use EVGA Percision, i even tried underclocking everything to so maybe it wouldnt have to work so hard, and i would see a small decrease in performance, well not so much it didnt do anything.

I have a 80mm exhaust fan but was a little disappointed as it doesnt really move as fast as i thought so it doesnt push a lot of air out of my case, but i did buy a PCI card that has built in exhaust much like the GPU card has, and a blower that i have blowing air on the GPU to try and further keep it cooled....

Now while playing COD5 it gets up to about 74C and the computer just turns itself off. My CPU temp is only about 55C while playing so i dont think that could be the issue.

attached is a picture of my desktop with all the temp readings i got from programs as well everrest showing the CPU and stuff about my PC

the case im using is this here:

Dont think its possible to turn one of those intake fans into an exhaust fan dunno if that will help..

If you cant read from my sig the GPU i have is a EVGA Geforce 280 600mhz core clock 1GB of mem and 1300 shader clock.

So i guess my question is...

what can i do keep this cooled more? I have a small budget as i quit my second job and my part time job is still that part time, so i cant spend more than 100 bucks right now.

any help would be highly appreciated.

    Specs in sig.

The programs in the picture are a little hard to see as the writing is so small.

Can you fit a fan to the back of the case at all?

I think you should be able to get a 120MM one in there, and if you set it up to blow outwards, it should help a lot.

sorry was hopin you could enlarge the picture to see.

as far as a 120mm yes i can get one to fit, i was unsure at first ont he size so i went with what i knew would fit. if you could recommend something that would be great.

Can you tell which way the fans are blowing?

if you take the side off, and just set a fan blowing into it, does it still get real hot?

the giant side fan and the big front fan, blow inwards, so they take in the outside air and blow it in, today it got really cold(yay ohio weather) and my room cooled down to about 63F, now the video card is running about 35C idle, where as yesterday it was about 55C idle.

I think ill need to move my computer down in the basement unless i can find a way to battle the outside air during the summer, cuz we dont normally run out AC unless its about 86+F outside.

Check the heatsinks and make sure they are clean. Dust can cause heat issues.

Can you reverse the front fan at all? Then you will create airflow inside the case to get everything cooler.

Computer is about a month old, and no dust from what i can see anywhere.

as far as the front fan, no i dont believe i can, if so, i dont know how to.

Again its a cool day and cool in here and no heat issues, just when it gets hotter in the room :(
