video card help

I need an card that will be able to play Counterstrike Source or Day of Defeat Source at medium to low settings but that doesnt cost over 60-70 bucks, im extremely low on cash. thanks.

 

PCI-E or AGP?

 

How do I determine if my pc has either AGp or PC-I slots? And which one is generally better?

it should tell u under the Motherboard tab what slots you have

PCI-Express is better but the same card in either AGP or PCI-E u wouldnt notice a difference. Its better cause all the new cards are PCI-E and the same ones for AGP are more expensive. Example: 6800XT AGP=$130 6800XT PCI-E=$100 Its more with the high end cards tho

60-70 bucks is a tough price range...i dont know any in that price range would run CS:S very well but i guess they might do OK since it would run on my old 5200 I think the best u can get for that price is a 6200 UNLESS u got an open-box card, then u could get one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...048+4026+1068109604&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=48

cant reccomend an open box card since i havent had any experience with them but who knows, they have a 15 Day return policy on them....

 

Actually a few friends of mine said a geforce 6200 was good to run the games on high as well as being able to run Call of Duty 2 and battlefield 2. is that true? Im willing to spend a few extra bucks. But should I buy the 256 MB or the 128?

 

if u can/want to spend a few extra bucks then a 6600 would be a better choice
