Video Card Issue?

Hey everyone! Im just recently having this crazy problem with my x1950 pro 512 mb radeon, sapphire card listed below... and when i try to over clock the card at all the screen keeps flashing quite fast. But when i put the settings back to it's original state it doesn't make the screen flash at all. Weird i know... Could it be that i need to re-install the drivers? Someone help?

Well, likely that you are oc'ing it incorrectly.
Remember it is trial & error to find the best fit for each system as it may not come on first try.
You overclock a component, you also have to make sure the new settings do not require a higher voltage to be coming to the component since the faster a device runs the more juice it naturally would need. For minor oc'ing this may not be the case but it would be best to check with card vendor's recommended specs online if available.

Also, all settings (color depth, screen resolution and the screen refresh rate) will have to be supported by not only the video card but also the monitor as well.

This of course could have something to do with the device drivers as well but I would say check on the others first since the card appears to be working as designed at its default settings, I culdn't blame the drivers.

 

Thanks... i actually updated the drivers from ati and it supposedly fixed the problem.... but now i have a bigger problem! So this sucks... I think it's because it's built by sapphire. Im not really going to trust Sapphire much anymore. I posted a new thread about my new issue. If you like you can take a look. Thank you very much for your help!
