Video Card not initializing

    I have run into this many times over the years. I keep an old VooDoo3 PCI around as it never seems to miss a startup - It will always get me to the BIOS. Video cards are infamous for not starting up correctly, and I have never found a common cause. Could anyone add to my list of common solutions?

    1) Check power supply watts and voltage
    2) Check power conntector to card
    3) Check BIOS settings (init PCI or AGP first)
    4) Pull the card and clean the slot and connector
    5) Leave the computer off for half an hour to check for heat problem
