Hi there everyone who might be reading,

First of all I have to mention what a gread job you guys are doing with this site because without the possitive feedback we wouldnt feel very nice now would we :p

Anyway cut the long story short all I really want I guess is to get some opinions on a graphics card I have just ordered.
The card specs can be found here
    http://www.go4auriga.com/VGA/ati9600xt.asp
From my opinion which doesn't say too much I find it decent, well decent enough for my system anyway!
My baby's specs are : P4 2.8 (naturall, not overclocked) 512mb of DDR ram, Gigabyte motherboard 800Mghz and all onboard crap!
Well Sis graphics card *cries* and Realtek ac 97 audio which im happy with (the soundscard) that is....
Im planing to invest a little more into my system but for now, all i want are some answers I guess..
Btw the card set me back 295$ au
Tahnx you guys in advance and rememember to keep it geekish *grins

that's a good mid-range card ... i wouldn't expect to play far cry at high settings but you'll be able to play it, it will certainly be huge step above your integrated graphics

i have the assus 9600xt/tvd and i have had only had a 1 problem with the smartgard enabling itself on driver updates but noyt to worry it is only a tick you might have to untick. other than that is is a great card i play doom3 and far cry and all my other games at high setting and it handles them great . i play at 1024x768. all in all a GREAT mid range card. :)

Yes I guess for 295$ you couldn't except much more could you?!

Afterall I sure would love to optimise for the pro version but hey :p
Anyway we'll see on tuesday I guess!
I surely will post my comments about it!
Anyway I'm not even planing to play Doom3, Halo2, Half life, Far cry and to name a few others.
It is simply for much simpler games that I could run already but after the mods kicked in I guess it is a bit of a problem :p
    Thanx for the replies

God, thought I would never reply! :p
So much for the 9600 series since the bastards sold out and me being unpatient as i am i bought a slightly cheaper version being 9550 series which isn't really much difference except for the cheaper ram to cut down the pricing. So far so good the full 256 is giving me enough pleassure all the drivers are updated, catalyst control panel is fine :) but now I'm thinking of adding a little more pinch to the system.
Anyhow cut the long story short i added aditional stick of ram 512 which brings the total up to 1024 which is more then i need but anyway. one problem remains though!

At the time i started bulding my pc i never had in mind gaming hmm *stctraches head and grins* so guess what i bought a micro tower case :( originally designed for celeron! Hey it was small cute and iresistable but so little did I know oh lord. just the other day i over clocked my pc even though i used to dislike it but hell the performance blew off most midrange systems. flet good i tell ya! :p Am i becoming a slight geek or what heh. Anyhow (for third time :p ) What case should i be looking at and are round cables better for a finer job since i don't think putting in aditional fan would help much.
    Thanx guys
