Recently my computer stopped reading my moniter. I know its the computer because the moniter works with other computers. I would guess it is because of the video card failing. Can anyone confirm this? Also since the video card is intergrated can i just buy a new one and start up the computer? I know that you have to reconfiger the bios to use your new card but since the old one is fried would it use the new card on its own?

What happens when you turn on the computer?
    Do the fans come on?
    Do the lights come on?
Can you hear the HardDrive spin up?
    Does the machine beep?
If it beep, how many times?

Have you tried using another monitor on the computer with the monitor problem? Did it originally have a CRT monitor but now has an LCD Monitor? Did you install any monitor drivers if it is not the original monitor? You will need to disable the onboard display adapter if you decide to install a new ( AGP, PCI, PCIExpress) graphics card, if you uninstall it Windows will probably see it on restart and want to install a driver for it. Most of my limited experience is with sound cards. The BIOS is another question. Check to see if there are any updates for it, and there should be the settings for graphics in it. The new card should come with a driver CD or at least a means of getting drivers, Windows should detect it and ask for drivers for it, and there is the Add Hardware wizard in the Control Panel. When in doubt follow the instructions that come with the card. Some hardware requires installing the drivers first. I ran this systems video on 4 bit once when I had driver issues with the onboard display adapter. I would go ATI for a graphics card, but that is just my opinion, after reading all the posts about video card issues people have. And don't forget to check system requirements for any new card you buy. All the best, oh yeah, and make sure you double check the VGA/SVGA/DVI/HDMI and electrical connections too.:banghead

I've tried wiggling the plugs and reconnecting them how else do you check the connection?confused I've tried a different moniter. The only thing I did to my computer was format it, but I put in a new hard drive that has windows xp so it shouldn't have messed it up. I can't get into my bios or control panel if i can't see anything....

i had a similar problem that was fixed by reseating the RAM, though it wasnt a intergrated card
