I have a Visiontek Radeon HD 2400 Pro video card installed it has vga and hdmi outputs but unfortunately my tv nor vcr has compatible inputs they both have older rca (yellow ,white ,red ) inputs. I would like to know how to connect the two cheaply (because I'm unemployed ). I have seen adapters for sale that convert vga to rca. My video card is supposed to be capable of tv output , but would I need an inline converter?

    THANX in ADVANCE

is your card pci, pci-e or agp?
    is it 256mb or 512mb?
    overclocked edition or no?

Hey there MOPAR it is the pcie version, 256 mb I do'nt think it is over clocked the box says nothing about that.
So y'all think I still need a converter (not just an adapter ) for this application. BTW thanx for the responses so far.

well it seems as yet to me anyway there is no cheaper alternative to what davis suggested above. To conver HDMI to RCA can cost anywhere form $100 to $300 average.

Thanx Mopar I was under the assumption since the card already supported tv output that all I needed was an adapter from one of the supported outputs to rca,but you know what happens when you assume.

I understand where your coming from Rikky I've done some research myself but I have put my peepers on my card and all I see is dvi, hdmi, and vga.

Ahh right then.If your serious about just using the TV I'd look into a used card with a S-video TV output,it would be much cheaper than a converter.

A card for about 10-20$ would be good enough to watch DVD's and use the internet, gaming is another matter.

    Good luck.

Thankx Rikky ! I subscribe to netflix and would like to get the video from there (and other various sources) to my living room TV for more comfortable viewing.
