I own a Compaq Presario SK1303WM with motherboard type...

Manufacturer : MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD
    Model : Gamila/Giovani/Neon series Rev. 030
    CPU Slot/Socket Type : mPGA-478
    Chipset Vendor : Intel i845G Rev. B1
Bios Manufacturer : Phoenix Technologies, LTD
    Bios Version : 3.25

I am wanting to upgrade video card...but do not know what type to get...I do know that this motherboard has a built in card...but that is about it. I am getting conflicting information from Compaq about the motherboard type...when I run Everest I get info listed above...they are saying that I have a:

    Mb manufacturer name: ASUS A7V8X-LA

HP/Compaq name: Kelut-GL6E. (sorry if these are the same...not too computer savvy)

    I just want a new memory card...Please help :)

    Thanks!

How much money are you wanting to spend? What are you going to use it for?

You have an AGP slot, so you need an AGP card.

It comes down on what games and how much you want to spend. You can spend anything from AU$100 to over AU$1000 and each will better at doing certain things and for games etc. Also check out some reviews on graphic cards through google and places like toms hardware if you got some cards in mind.
