Video Card Upgrade Question

I want to upgrade my video card. I have a budget of like 180 dolors. Should i get ATI Or Nvidia? My Power Supply is 300Watts. Thanks

 

personally i would try to find a 6800 sounds abouts right for that machine, nvidia is my favorite.

 

Ya, I'd worry about that power supply first. That CPU can suck about 150W by itself when pushed and your RAM about 100W and it's probably a noname crap PSU. On nVidia all the way.

 

yeah, go get a decent PSU first, you can find them for under $40. Mine is 500w Coolmax and i paid $30. As for the card, i have a 6800XT, and i wish i still had my Radeon 9600. I would go with the best radeon you can afford, but thats just my opinion.

 

nvidia for sure; check out a 6600. not top of the line but u can run it with your current PSU.

ok i just checked your sig; did u build this yourself? if not, what brand/model is it? it may not even be possible to replace the PSU

 

What is the model of your current nvidia graphics card ?

 

I have a Compaq Presario 2038X and right now i have nvidia 6150 LE Intraged i ran 3DMark06 and got 180 WAAAAAAAAAAA lol
