Video Card...

    i have a 2.6ghz Celerion,512(2100)ram, 128mb ATI Reden 9200 Serries 3d card and when i play renegade i get 20 fps (very low :()

    My dad has a laptop: 1.6 ghz Intel..(something i think just 1 letter...H or R??) 256ram, 32mb 6200 GO Nvidia 3d card and he gets 60-80+ frames per second on renegade....(both are played on highest setting) y does a 32 get WAY better FPS then a 128??

    i i upgrade to a 6200 Nvidia 32mb...will i get that kind of fps?

    He has apg, I only have Pci

    first of all, the 6000 series is a way better card then any of the 9000 radeons
    yes, by having agp, he will have more fps
    the memory in a card isnt always a sign of performance

    I would say that your dads laptop is newer and has more modern components. If you have a PCI video card and he has an AGP card his will probably always run faster. I would not upgrade a pci card.

    well thats all i got on this mobo...crapppy just a PCI so what can i upgrade (videocard) to, to get the best Proformence? A new mobo? and a new prossessor? or a combo?

    if you want to play the latest games i'd suggest 5700 or 9600 at the very least ... also stay away from "SE" or "LE" cards

    i looked some 5900 (i think i want to stick with nvidia) 128mb and they where about 150$-200$+..wow alot any good deals out there? im thinking about just keepin my 5200 agp (will it play on low settings?) and takin it from my old pc (Pen.3) and poppin into the new computer( that i might get) and savin up for a new one.

    Can u tell i really want to play Halflife2? (strange..i guess i should get halflife1 first hu) but it just looks so kool

    5200 cards struggle with DX 9 stuff, I'm pretty sure. In fact, I think all FX cards have a little trouble with it. It'd be better to save a little more money and get the 5900 at least.

    I just got a Sparkle 128MB 6600GT and haven't had a problem with Far Cry or the Doom 3 Demo.
