video controller (VGA Compatible)

I am having issues with video controller (VGA Compatible). When I turn on my computer, it says to install the video controller. I don't know how to fix this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Here's what I got when I ran Everest.

What does Device Manager show as yellow.
Might also go to Windows Update and check what they come up with in the Hardware list.

 

There is a yellow question mark next to other devices - video controller.

(Did I answer your question? Sorry but I don't know anything about computers)

 

Right click on that (other devices-video controller) and click on update driver, let it connect to the internet and see if Windows finds a driver .

I clicked on update driver and it says that hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software.

 

Is your computer a store bought model Dell or HP? If so post the maker and model number. The drivers are usually available on their website.

Are you having any problems with your video display or does it look like it normally does?

 

My friend built this computer for me so it's not store bought, and I am having problems with video display.

My monitor is not working so I can't use my computer anymore.
