Need a program that will allow me to take clips from a video.
something simple.

VLC http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/vlc_media_player.html
1. Open View and select Advanced Controls
2. Start playing the video
3. Press the record button when you get to the section you want (or move the slider to the time you want to start from)
4. Press the record button again to stop recording.

Thanks, had VLC already loaded on to my PC, did not know it had that feature. computer

You just need to turn on the Advanced features to use the record button.
I researched this a few years ago when I wanted to get a song section from a video.
I now have those buttons showing on all my computers so I don't forget I can use them.
