video freeware help needed

    ok so basicly i downloaded a movie but its in 2 parts is there a way to combine those parts into a single file?

    they are in .avi if it matters

    i have virtual dub it wont read the files and same with windows movie maker

    vlc will play the files but movie maker is giving me a codec error any suggestions?

    Sounds like a codec problem...

    Don't know what OS you're running, so I can't point to a specific file, but there are fixes available from Microsoft, as well as several 3rd-party codec packs available in the MG Multimedia section...
