Video Hiccups

Ok I am not real sure if this is a software issue or something else. Here is my issue, I am new to burning dvd's and recently as of last night I decided to try it. So I had a downloaded movie that was in avi format. I am using Cucusoft AVI to DVD burning software. Everything burned wonderful except for one thing. When I play the DVD in my home player the video has "hiccups". It doesnt affect the audio and doesnt cause the video to become out of sync with the voices. There are no lines in the video when it "hiccups", just like the very short stop and go. Its almost like it is stopping for a split second and then catching right back up but it is constant and very quick. Like I said, it doesnt affect the video quality but it is slightly annoying to watch. Any suggestions?

 

What speed did you burn it at? Try 4x if you burnt it at anything faster.

 

Yeah I burnt at max speed which I think was 8x. I was told by a friend to try that too so I think it is looking like the problem. Thanks. What is the point in have those higher speeds if it isnt gonna work?

 

It works fine for data or audio...with video you start to lose quality, as you have experienced.

 

Did 4x fix the problem?
Was there any jumping on playback or record prior to burning?
I am having a similar problem but just noticed it. (pinnacle software)
