Video is cut off and can't wake the computer.

Ok, I don't know if the title is the best description.

My computer turns on..starts windows, then after 10 min or so, the screen goes black. The computer is still running, I'm looking at it now and the lights are still on and the fan is running. However the monitor is just black as if the computer went to sleep.

I press the keys on the keyboard, I move the mouse and click on the mouse frantically..yet nothing happens.

I try pressing the power button (which is set to shutdown) and that does nothing.

the only way to get out of this is either doing a hard shut down (hold down the power button) or pressing the reset button.

I also tried going into the Bios..but after some time, it did the same thing!


I'm running windows XP.
I don't know much information about this computer. Pre-made in China.

Any suggestions?

 

Try another Motherboard battery as this is signs of it running down.
