Having a bit of a problem, hoping for some advice.

I built my computer about 3 years ago using an inexpensive antec case,
an ECS rc410 mobo,Intel duo core processor, 2 gigs of memory and a few other toys.
A few weeks back, while I was using the computer, the video would die and I would get a message saying monitor was going to power save due to no signal being received.

I replaced the video card with a PNY Verto GE Force 9400 GT. after installing it, I continued to have the same problem.
I assumed at this point that the Mother board was shot and wanted to upgrade it anyway, so I replaced it with a Gigabyte EP43-UD3L, and i replaced the memory with a 2 gig stick of kingston memory.

I am still having the same issue and I am totally dumb founded.
I am on a wireless network, and when the vidie goes out, the computer keeps running, the shared folders on my computer can still be accessed on the other other computers on the net work.

    Any body have any Ideas?

    Thanks

With the computer still functioning as you say, I'd have to bet it was the monitor which has gone bad!
You might try setting up VNC or Remote Desktop which would nail it if that still functioned too.

That was the first thing I checked. (Sorry I didn't post that info) I hooked this monitor to my laptop, and it worked fine, no issues at all, hooked the monitor back to the desk top and got the same issue. But Thanks, I didn't think about checking it. I guess team viewr would give me the same opportunity to check the next time it freaks out.

In order to really know the monitor is OK, you need to match the resolution and the refresh rate. Given all that you have tried already, I might suggest changing the desktop to match your laptop.

Thanks. It has been running fine the last couple of days, which is the normal pattern. Next time it acts up, I will check that. Can you outline briefly the procedure you would use on this?
