I just had a few malware issues cleaned up. Some where in there my video setting got screwed up. Normal boot only displays 4 bit color, but I have an Ati9800 vid card.
I get an error message that the current driver is for a previous version.

    Video card is selected.

I'm not sure if I need a driver for the vid card or XP.

Funny thing is that in safe mode it looks ok.

    Where do I start?

    System info:
    P4 2.8
    XP Pro
    32 bit
    2 GB of ram
    Radeon 9800

    Thanks
    James

Goldenskull I can't follow the rules

I would try too un-install then try too re-install the driver first.

That did it. Installed new video card drivers and everything is back to normal.
    Thanks for the help.
