    Hello,

I have been coming here for a while now and I finally have a problem. I was hoping one of you might have an answer.

My Gateway solo 5300 notebook has a video output jack on the back of the notebook. I read the manual with the simple instructions. Put cable from video out to TV video in, press and hold function button then F3 to switch inbetween modes. Well I have everything connected properly and it does switch in a way the TV flickers, but still no clear picture. I am a tech at connecting entertainment components so I know its hooked up right. I just have no idea why its not working, this is the second notebook like this that I could never get the video out to work with, can anyone help???

    thank you.

    Few things.
When connecting Svideo both pc & tv should be off.
Lot's of TV's you have to turn on the Svideo, mine has onscreen setup, access thru menu.
Might have setting in Laptop bios to enable Svideo.

    Check this first:
You may have to lower resolution & refresh rate, "Display properties" on the Laptop.
