Running brand new machine with Windows 8. On some sites that ran fine with Windows 7 I am no longer to play the videos and at times the sites themselves do not load for me. I am experiencing the same issue with both firefox and explorer. I have tried resetting the computer to no avail. This issue happen only on a few select sites, but they are some of my favorites. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Windows 8 does not include as many video playback codecs as did Windows 7. You need to install a codec pack.

My favorite is K-lite Codec pack, full install. Once you've installed it, you'll be able to play any video under the sun.

    Get it from here:

Just accept the defaults during installation, but be careful not to let it install any toolbars or search extensions.

I updated all the codecs as advised but that still didn't fix the problem.:( To be a little more specific the one website in particular I am having problems with is www.madthumbs.com I know it is an adult site, but hey I know I'm not the only one that visits it. I need someone to help a brother out. Thanks everyone!

Hyper-V can interfere with video playback. It appears to be a bug of sorts.

Check add/remove windows features and see if it is installed.

Well, seeing as your codecs are in order, the only other thing I can think of is that your flash player might be out of date or corrupt. Go to Adobe.com and install the latest Flash player.

Well I checked and I don't have Hyper-V installed. Also I updated to Adobe Flash 11. I tried using Chrome but have gotten the same results. I am using Firefox primarily but have tried IE to see if there is any difference but there is not. I appreciate all the suggestions. Please keep them coming. Hopefully I can get this figured out sooner than later. Thanks Again!!!

What do you mean by my flash player being corrupt? How would I go about fixing that? I just did a fresh install, so I would guess that it is OK.

Chrome Flash is built in. Firefox & Internet Explorer, they are external entities and can be uninstalled. If you are getting the problem with Chrome, then try doing the suggestion regarding Hyper-V.

Thanks again for the tip. But I just triple checked and I do not have Hyper-V. I even watched a video on youtube on how to install and uninstall Hyper-V, and from what I saw I am 99.9% sure this machine does not have it. Any more suggestions? I'd hate to bring this machine in to have it fixed for $100 or more when it only cost me $400. I am so frustrated that I even called some PC repair shops to inquire about removing Windows 8 and putting Windows 7 on it, but I am being told that will cost me upwards of $300. Thats crazy!! So does anyone else have any other ideas?? Thanks guys!

I have finally found that I have Hyper-V on my computer. However when I search my comp it shows me about 100 files and I cannot figure out how to get to the main file for Hyper-V or how to adjust the settings. Can anyone guide me through this? I appreciate the help!

    Don't go deleting files.

Remove it through the add/remove windows feature section in add/remove programs.

If you have Windows 8 (non-pro), you don't have it anyway.

Have you tried different video card drivers?
