Video problems

I've been getting these random crashes after I installed a new videocard. It makes it look like my monitor's been unplugged, but it hasn't, the monitor just turns itself off. So I need to hard reset, to get it working again. This happens at random times, and I'm not sure what's going on with it! I've tried reformatting, but this doesn't do anything.. Can someone help me?

 

hi henryu! you didn't write the model of you videocard. first of all make sure it's not overheated. the second is it plugged properly.

 

Oh! It's an Nvidia Geforce N6200. I think I put it in pretty well.. Not sure if it's overheated, but I think it could be..

 

Did you download & install the latest drivers for the card?

What driver are you running?

 

I'm using the most current nvidia driver for my card, that I got off of the official website.
Main Driver: nv4_disp.dll
Version: 6.14.0010.9131 (from dxdiag)
I'm also wondering if dust in the videocard slot could be causing this problem.. I haven't dusted my computer in a long time.

 

yeah it can be. i'd say that is the most common reason of computer problems. clean it up, wipe it with alcohol.
