Video to CD question ???

The question may imply I don't have a clue as to what I'm trying to do, and it's true. My son was married recently and the Video Photog just place a 12 min. video clip on his web site for viewing and downloading, I downloaded it, it downloaded as a (.wmv) file and it plays just fine thru Windows Media Player, I then got the bright idea to try and make a (Video CD) using Nero ver. 6.3.0.3, I do not have a DVD burner or player, this version of Nero does have 2 choices, a Video CD or a Super Video CD, I tried the Video CD choice, it took 30 minutes to "encode" the video and then burned it but the end result was I could NOT play it on the Combo CD/DVD player attached to the TV, is what I'm trying to do not possible with the software I have or just not possible at all, it's not a big deal , just curious -

 

Your dvd player attached to the tv must support VCD (video cd). otherwise, you'll need to invest in a dvd burner for your computer. they are relatively cheap nowadays and depending on the brand, will more than likely ship with the necessary software to do what you are wanting (my Lite-On shipped with Nero).

 

Its strange that Nero doesnt work.

There are really two options:

1) Try a different DVD Player because sometimes these things are picky and it might say VCD but it doesnt work.

2) Try a new program. I did a bit of research and you can try this program called Fly DVD SVCD VCD Maker 5.05. It say it can do it so give it a shot.
