Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Hey, guys - in particular MA and TimW.

Looks like a necessity exists for a tutorial for downloading a repair or Linux .iso and properly burning an image file. I and others are constantly having to wrestle with posters about the mechanics of that process - sure would be sweet to have a MajorGeeks link to point to. ;)

Posted here in the Lounge in case y'all wanted to get rid of the idea easily.

Great job on the tutorials, btw - I love 'em.

    Hi Caliban

If you wish to produce a video tutorial, the team will look it over and may add it to that section.

Folks if you do create a tutorial video for a task then do PM one of us about it and we will view it for inclusion into the video tutorials section, its a colaborative thing.

Thanks, David. I hadn't considered making one myself (yikes!), but maybe I'll see what I can come up with.

Probably name it "How to create a boot disk for a cool and fast computer". ;)

Do look over the ones that MA and TimW have produced to see what they have done, and do bare in mind that liek other guides not every one will be used, it has to fit in with what types of guide maybe needed as being a popular topic and for quality.

I have never had to do that, so it would be better to have it compiled by someone more familiar with the process. I personally use Debut Video Capture, where you can do a screen shot type video. Under Options, you can set a key combo to start, pause and record. So if your download is relatively long, you can start the recording process, then pause it and start it again seamlessly when the download is finished. Then upload it to YouTube and PM or email the link to Tim.
