VideoLAN Help

Hello--
I'm in the process of transcribing a 45 minute coban video using VideoLAN which came with the video file. I would like to zoom in on a few parts of the video and was wondering if there is something I could download to help me do this. Or is there a program available that would play the coban file and let me zoom in?

I'm almost finished transcribing the audio of the video, but if you know of any program that would make this job a little easier, that would be appreciated, too. I found a program that would allow me to use my foot pedal, but my foot pedal connector uses the old type of connection that my computer doesn't have and I can't find an adaptor to usb for it. (8 pin -- old mouse connector?)
