Videos appear dark and red

Ok I've got an NVidia 7800 GS and I've lately been having difficulties with all my videos. They all play dark and have a red tinge to them. It all seemed to start when I got the latest NVidia driver, which is why I'm posting this here. But I already did a roll back to the old driver which I had never had any problems with and it was still doing it.

So I've again updated the driver because I was having even more difficulties with my games because of the old drivers and I'm completely up to date.

Now I can go into my NVidia Settings at the bottom right corner of desktop, and go to color correction. By moving the overlay slider away and back to 100% brightness/contrast, this usually fixes it. But some videos pop back into darkness at times and I usually have to do this numerous times.

At this point I have no idea what it is anymore. All I know is that I want it to be fixed so I don't have to do anything with it. I can just play my videos and see them normally. Anybody know what I can do?

 

No one has an answer to this? Apparently it's a common thing but the people that originally have the problem figure it out somehow and they're all like nevermind and never share how they fixed it. Makes watching videos very annoying.
