Hi everyone. I am trying to find a new video card for the Dimension E310. I need a video card that works with windows 7, PCI or PCIe slots. and is equal to or under $100.00. How do you find out what your wattage is for your power supply? Do I need a fan for the video card? Any help would be appreciated. maryhigginsrice

    Dell Dimension E310
    WindowsXP Professional SP3
    Philips DVD+RW DVD8801

As it looks like your PSU is only 230 watts which is very low for a video card update. I think if you get a new video card you likely will have to get a new PSU.

I think you can make this happen for around 100 but the issue is if you think the upgrade is worth it as a P4 pc is old.

Thank you for answering my post so quickly. I was thinking of buying a new pc. The Dell Zino. The problem is that you cannot install any additional video cards. There are so many pcs to choose from. Could you provide me with some suggestions. maryhigginsrice.

Depends on your budget and what you do with the pc.

I am not a gamer so I want a computer that has 3gb of memory, a fast processor, and extra pci or pcie slots. Possibly not over $600. I like Dell, but they always want your to "customize", which drives the price through the roof. My desire is the have a video card with an s-video output so I can watch videos on my SD tv. Any suggestions? maryhigginsrice

I think a pc like this would be good for you.

It's a custom build type place so you get quality parts and they leave room for you upgrade later on.

However if you wish to use your P4 I was thinking maybe a 8600gt + new 400 watt PSU which would run about $110
