view menu on desktop

    Is there any way I can change the icon view on the desktop from icons to tiles?

    It's not a really important question, so don't go out of your way to answer it.

    Click Start-run and type in "progman". Hit enter. Then you have the old Windows 3.1 style tiles. You can create any groups you want. You can maximize it also.

    Edit: I think that is what you were after. You of course lose all Active Desktop functionality. You would be better off just creating Folders on your desktop.
