Virtual Wifi?

I have a windows 7 laptop that is connected to the wireless network in our office with a dynamic IP address.

But I am also showing a Virtual wifi adaptor that has a 192.168.16.x address that is connected to an unknown network.

My first through was wtf? but then I read up and found out that VWiFi is supposed to be a good thing, but as I don't know what the second IP range is and ipconfig/all shows its getting DNS from what looks like an IPV6 source I'm not so sure.

Should I be worried?

Might want to look again. If you are seeing a Virtual Wifi adapter, you have Virtual PC installed.

 

I checked before I answered. There is no virtualisation within our organisation.

There is no virtual PC installed and if there were there is no reason for it to be on a different IP range to the one the laptop is on. I have read about VWifi being used as a second wifi connection to allow a user to connect to more than one wireless network at once but that's never been a requirement and not anything I would have ever needed to set up.

My concern is that the vwireless connection is a security risk allowing my laptop to either be used as an access point or actually be connected to another network without my knowledge.

What else could it be?
