Virtualbox

    hey everyone. i am wanting to do some playing around with msdos and cannot get virtualbox to properly install on my HP slim with windows 7 64bit. is there another program that works like virtualbox? a freeware answer would be preferred. thanks

    Seems you don't need a VM just for DOS. Search for DOS emulation and take your pick.

    thanks Earthling. i am still very new at what i am going to try to do (which is to learn more about dos commands and what i can do with them) so i will check in to both of them. you are a true hero. i've messed with ms dos and dos shell but never really knew much about either of them. i am a slow learner trying to read so basically i will be using videos to try to help me more

    It's an interesting question. When I first became interested in computers in the early 1980s you really had to get to grips with DOS in order to make much progress at all, but once the graphical user interface appeared DOS became less and less useful. It's quite likely I still have one or two DOS batch files and other useful bits and pieces stored somewhere and I'm going to take a look at them. Thanks :)
