First time VPC user. I checked the VPC console settings and the proper ethernet controller is being picked up and Network Connections shows that it is active. My WRT54G router assigned a different IP address to the VPC as was stated in the help files. Any ideas of where to check next? Thanks all.

Beside using the Host network card through its own virtaul card the VOC computer goes directly to the Router and work on its own.

Make sure that you choose the right connection mode.

I.e. Pick up only the Adapter, No share or local etc.

The VPC (if it is XP or Vista) has its own Firewall too, make sure that it is not blocking any thing.

Thanks cat5e, the problem was my free PCTools FW on the host XP system which I didn't think was the culprit, as there was nothing in the logs pointing to it, so I dismissed it being the culprit ATT. I now have to figure out how to let VPC through the FW as I'd rather have that on.
