had a system infected with viruses and spyware. Couldn't get on the Internet because I couldn't install a modem or NIC. Empty device manager, lots of other problems. So I hooked up the drive to my work/test system and backed up all the data to the master drive. Then I used AV and Antispyware programs on the master to clean the other drive. When I hooked the drive back up to its own system it was not recognized as a boot disk. It's there in BIOS and I can browse the drive using BartPe. I also tried the XP recovery console. Fixmbr didn't help and fixboot says it can't find a disk. Using Maxtor utilities to scan disk but no errors found so far. So do I need to reformat, etc.
