I am trying to restore an old Windows Vista laptop. The previous owner upgraded and gave me this old one which I thought might be useful for an elderly friend of mine who just needs a basic laptop. However, after a system reset to factory settings, I have encountered numerous errors. Internet Explorer refuses to connect to most websites outside of the Microsoft domain, and many within it. (see attached screenshot) I did try altering the security settings within IE, to no avail. I cannot install an updated version, when installation is attempted nothing happens. Installed Google Chrome successfully, but it times out on websites, and then tries to redirect to virus infested pages (history can be provided if requested). Installed Comodo IceDragon successfully, but it only works until it automatically updates to newer version, then cannot open. (see other attached screenshot) Same with reboot of system. Must reinstall after each reboot. A friend with a bit more knowledge looked at it briefly and suspected a problem with the hardware, possibly the RAM. I did install Panda Cloud AV, but the IE issue was present prior and following that. Just wondering if there's a virus, all scans showed clean, but the browser functionality is definitely suspect. If not a virus, would welcome suggestions for other solutions. All problems still present after full scan procedure. Thank you !

Logs included for all except RougeKiller.

**Of special note, RougeKiller would not run. Tried "Run As Administrator". Tried downloading portable version from author's website and "Run As Administrator". Nothing. No Windows prompt to allow. No blip on screen. Nothing.

There is no malware in your logs. I suggest you post in the software forum to further investigate your issues.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
