I'm getting various e-mails lately to a relatively private e-mail I have that include virii. Now, it's not a problem for me, as they are caught by my anti-virus, but I'd like to inform the person.

The virus is spoofing the "from" address. I've heard that you can still figure out where the e-mail is coming from by looking through the header or something like that. I'm using Outlook 2003 as my e-mail client. If anyone knows how I can find where these mails are coming from, I'd appreciate it.

As you already know the solution, you'll have to look in the header. It will contain the name of servers it has passed through. I don't use Outlook 2003 but from the experience of using Outlook Express, I'll advice you to select any message and then select properties and then select details for viewing the header.

    Troy,

Thanks for the reply. The thing is, although I've heard that you need to look in the header, I don't know what to look for. I could post the header here, but I don't even know which information would be "sensitive" to post on a public board.

    Thanks again.
