Virus Problems!!

Everytime my friend connects to the Internet he seems to get a bunch of virues. First, the sasser worm was detected, then I downloaded the fix tool and it got rid of it. The next day he went to connect to the internet again and reciveved the virus again. When I take the computer to my house and connect to the Internet, I don't have a problem. When he takes it home and connects he has major problems. Any suggestions???

 

hey Dish First off, have you turned off system restore and run the sasser tool from "safe" mode? Then, are your buddy's critical updates and service packs up to date? You can read what MS has to say about sasser here.

He is running Norton, and yes I have downloaded Adware. Really not sure what the problem is. I have been working on it foe days and still have no solution.

 

To add to what Bill pointed out, critical updates and service packs are, well, critical. Sasser and other nasties such as Blaster can only infect a system that isn't patched. Your friend needs to visit Windows Update ASAP.
