Virus w32/bangle.j@mm

my virus software mcafee found this virus on my system
so I deleted it and received conf. that it was gone. than I hit ok and another dialog box came up with this message
c:\system volume information\_restore and some numbers
so I tried to delete it again, it would'nt delete or clean or
quarintine, so I excluded it. I have the most current dat
files for my software, also I went to mcafee's homepage
and downloaded a stinger program, for trojans viruses
and such. I ran this program and it said my harddrive was clean, but this dialog box still comes up every once in awhile, Can soneone help me get rid of it PLEASE! I'm
running windows xp pro THANK-YOU

 

disable your system restore and it shoud take care of it. AV's can't clean that area.

Most viruses etc leave traces in your system restore which can not be cleaned while restore is active
Please turn off your system restore reboot your machine to clean out all the restore points run a full system scan to ensure all traces of the trojan are gone
Then restart your system restore

Bearing in mind all previous restore points will be lost

Kodo how do I disable the system

 

right click on my computer...choose properties.. click on system restore tab and then check the box that says "disable system restore on all drives"..

NOTE: this will remove any restore points you've previously made.
